Abington School Board has Misrepresented the Referendum

Abington Township and Rockledge Borough Ballot Question

2025 Primary Election – May 20, 2025

Ballot Question

Shall debt in the sum of $285,000,000 for the purpose of financing the construction of a new
Abington Middle School be authorized to be incurred as debt approved by the electors?

YES or NO

Interpretive Statement

The purpose of this debt is to finance construction of a new Abington Middle School with associated site, field,
and parking improvements. The original Middle School was constructed in 1962, with a science wing added in
1996. As a result, the Middle School has required many renovations over the last 63 years and would require
substantial additional renovations and repairs to maintain.

This referendum, if approved, would allow the Abington School District to issue electoral debt in an amount
not to exceed $285,000,000 for a term to be determined by the School District for the purpose
of construction of a new Abington Middle School.

Selecting “Yes” means a vote FOR this referendum question and would allow the Abington School District to
issue electoral debt in the amount not to exceed $285,000,000 for a term to be determined by the
School District
for the purpose of constructing a new Abington Middle School.

Selecting “No” means a vote AGAINST this referendum question and would not allow the Abington School
District to issue electoral debt for the purpose of constructing a new Abington Middle School unless voters
approve issuing electoral debt at a subsequent election called not less than 155 days after this first election.

We are being asked to approve a $285 million bond offering for a building that has
no drawings, no firm estimates, no limits on the interest rate, no length of loan!

Vote NO and stop this insane money grab
