Background Information

ASD District Wide Asset Protection Summary Report June 2022.

Based on a professional analysis/inspection of our buildings.”

This brief was conducted by Dr Fecher, Dr Melchor and the ASD
facility expert. It was presented at a forum in which all Abington and
Rockledge residents were invited to attend. Dr Fecher hosted this
meeting to address the maintenance needs of our school building. This
was and is an important subject. It should be noted that not one
Abington School Director
attended this meeting. Here is the
information they presented regarding Abington Junior HS.

Constructed 1962 (no discussion of additions and renovations.)

279,000 ft2 (conflict with current description of 301,000 ft2)

Maintenance Priority 1 start planning by 2024 … $34 million

Priority 2 start planning by 2025 … $66 million

Priority 3 start planning by 2027 … $18 million

Priority 4 start planning by 2030 … $447,000.

Priority 5 start planning by 2032+ .. No information

All this work needed for 10 years for less than $120 million.

Less than three years ago ASD leadership felt that they had a
working plan to upgrade the middle school.
There was no discussion

about replacing the school and they confidently announced that there
was approximately $120 million of work in the foreseeable future.

By August of 2023 they hired ICS and embarked on a completely
different path. What happened? This has never been explained. Either
Dr Fecher and his administration had no idea what they were presenting
in 2022, or there is another explanation which has not been given.
